At Fettes, we aim to make the admissions process as relaxed and informative as possible.
Our Registrar, Mrs Harriet Marshall and her assistant Mrs Joanna McVicar will be your main points of contact throughout the admission process and will be happy to discuss any questions you may have along the way.
Here is an example of the most common path to entry at Fettes:
Stage 1: Requesting a prospectus
Most families will initially request a prospectus and then get back in touch with us with further questions. We would also recommend you take a good look through our website.
Stage 2: Individual visits
We can arrange a visit at a time that is convenient for you and your family, but please give us as much notice as possible so we can guarantee your chosen date.
Admissions visits to Fettes comprise of a pupil-led tour, a meeting with the Headmaster, Housemaster or Housemistress as appropriate and time for questions with the Registrar.
Coming during term time is best as you get to see Fettes Prep and/or Fettes College in full swing with students and staff going about their daily life.
Stage 3: Taster Days
To allow your child to gain a true understanding of life at Fettes, we would encourage them to have a taster day to shadow current pupils and stay overnight in one of our boarding houses if appropriate.
Having the opportunity to meet some potential future classmates and get to know the staff and facilities can be a real benefit to prospective students whether considering day or boarding.
Stage 4: Registering your child
If you then wish to register your child for entry, we will provide the necessary forms and talk you through the rest of the process. By registering your child, we will automatically keep you updated with information regarding entry exams for your children as well as future events at Fettes which may be of interest.
